Experience the rich history of Rhode Island with the Charting History exhibit by the Rhode Island Historical Society and Newport Historical Society and performances by the Pawtuxet Rangers Fife & Drum Corps.
There will be a brief speaking program and a special screening of our promotional launch video.
Highlighting the evening will be a viewing of some of our state’s most invaluable treasures from the State Archives. This includes the 1823 William J. Stone printing of the Declaration of Independence. Commissioned by then-U.S. Secretary of State John Quincy Adams, this reproduction effort preserves a tangible connection to our past, allowing future generations to study and appreciate the foundational document of the United States. In addition, their newest exhibition, Rhode Island’s Revolutionary Communities, which shares stories of communities throughout our state’s role in the American Revolution.
