Karin Wulf, professor of history at Brown University and librarian at John Carter Brown Library will talk about genealogy in early America; Keith Stokes with the 1696 Heritage Group will present on the African heritage burying ground in Colonial Newport; Traci Picard, public historian and researcher, will discuss the reconstruction of a once-thriving mixed race, low-income lost neighborhood called Snowtown that once stood along the north side of what is now Constitution Hill in the mid-1800s; Bonnie Wade Mucia with the Mayflower Families Silver Books Project will teach attendees how to use the tools and knowledge in their genealogy work to trace early Colonial settlers and Mayflower descendants through multiple generations.
